"Peace" by William Strutt (1896)

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them."
Isaiah 11:6

Mission Statement: To offer a safe haven for native injured and orphaned wildlife and provide care for them as long as needed in accordance with God’s intentions. To promote community awareness, education, understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of our wildlife to eliminate or alleviate conflicts between humans and local wildlife, in order to conserve it.

This program is an important outreach ministry for our church as it fills a niche seldom recognized by church leaders. Wildlife without an advocate often succumbs to extinction. God made ALL creatures and scripturally we are commanded to care for all of His creation, wildlife included.

Caring for Christ’s Creatures has, in reality, been in existence without a name or a sponsor for over 40 years as a private individual’s passion to care for all God’s living creatures. Permitted by the State of Maine since July 1978 to conduct wildlife rehabilitation, Karen Hawkins cared for native wildlife, either personally rescued by her or brought to her by caring, concerned citizens. She has since been permitted by the Federal Department of Fish & Wildlife to care for federally protected wildlife as well.

It is with much gratitude Karen wishes to express her heartfelt thanks to the Bridgton United Methodist Church for their willingness to support this ministry by allowing her to operate under their 501c3 non-profit status. This will allow her to offer potential donors a tax exempt receipt as well as allow her to canvass for various items needed to properly care for the wildlife that needs her help.

TerraCycle is trying to eliminate the idea of waste. To do so, we must find great uses for objects that used to be considered waste. We manufacture affordable, potent, organic products that are not only made from waste, but are also packaged entirely in waste!Best of all, you can help raise funds for Caring for Christ's Creatures Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary, by helping Terracycle collect waste.
